Shannon D. Sentman, CEO & Co-founder

Shannon D. Sentman, JD, MSRE, LEED AP®, is SOL VISTA's chief strategist. He is responsible for ensuring that the company's strategies are clear both internally and externally, and that SOL VISTA has sufficient resources to pursue them.

In addition to his role with SOL VISTA, Shannon is an adjunct professor at University of Maryland, a frequent lecturer at Johns Hopkins, Georgetown and other universities, an oft published author, and a national leader in the high-performance building industry. His career has taken him through an executive development program with a Fortune 500 company to practicing as an attorney, federal lobbyist, and strategic consultant with the international law firm Holland & Knight. While with H&K, Shannon built a successful practice counseling clients, such as Forest City, McKinsey & Company, PricewaterhouseCoopers, USGBC, Goldman Sachs, Rohm and Haas, and Fortune Brands, on sustainability-related and real estate matters.

Zack Moore, SVP Customer Solutions & Co-founder

Zack Moore oversees SOL VISTA's technical and engineering efforts, and has been the primary visionary driving the company's increasingly innovative methods for steadily improving customer return on investment from SOL VISTA's optimization efforts. He also heads SOL VISTA's ongoing business development and customer management activities.

Before SOL VISTA, Zack founded greenSense Energy, a forward-thinking commercial building optimization company, where he worked with commercial real estate owners to cut utility expenses via efficient engineering, procurement, operations, and the latest control technologies. Zack holds a BS in Chemical Engineering, and an MBA in Technology Management.

Zack Moore

Jim Humphries, VP of Technology & Co-founder

Jim Humphries is SOL VISTA's technology lead and is responsible for the direction of SOL VISTA's technical R&D activities and its production software systems.

Jim has over 20 years of experience in IT, with a background in software engineering and scientific computing. Since 1998 he has provided high-end technical solutions for clients including NOAA, NIH, National Geographic, and Georgetown University's Lombardi Cancer Center. Before going out on his own, Jim worked at the University of Maryland Institute For Advanced Computer Studies (UMIACS) where he ran the Laboratory for Parallel Computation and was Implementation Team Leader on the NASA Earth Science Information Partnership project. Jim has several scholarly publications and invited presentations related to applications of High Performance Computing. He holds a degree in computer science from the University of Maryland, College Park.

Jim has run marathons on 3 different continents including the 2015 Antarctic Ice Marathon and the 2016 Melbourne Marathon. LinkedIn »

Rabindra Karki, Programmer & Software Tester

Rabindra assists SOL VISTA in analyzing, inputting, and tracking energy and utility data for the Skywalk® platform.  

He is currently attending Montgomery College, Rockville working towards his associate degree in Database Systems, Computer Applications. He also has a bachelor's degree in Physics from Nepal. He has extensive experience managing small, local businesses and previously worked as the program coordinator for a Distribution company. Rabindra is interested in the implementation of technology in business for sustainability.

Kerren Segal, Skywalk Program Director

Kerren manages SOL VISTA's Skywalk® program and the Skywalk data team. She oversees communications with customers and helps develop Java scripts for Skywalk data extraction.

Before joining SOL VISTA, Kerren received her B.A. in Sociology from Muhlenberg College, with a minor in Sustainability Studies. She is passionate about environmental sociology, and she is eager to develop strategies for implementing sustainable change that address social and economic inequalities from an intersectional perspective. Kerren also loves to travel, and is always planning her next trip to take with friends, family, or by herself. LinkedIn »
